  13. * The XferIt application can be placed anywhere on the hard drive.

  15. * The XferDrop extension only works under System 7 and provides 
  16.    drag and drop functionality into XferIt windows. To install it, drag
  17.    it to the System Folder and the Finder will put it into the
  18.    extensions folder.

To use an alias, select Open Alias… from the XferIt Hosts menu. Aliases for the software archives at Lancaster and Imperial College are included. For Imperial College (src.doc.ic.ac.uk) you will be prompted for a password: enter your email address. Imperial mirrors the large US Mac software collection held at sumex-aim (directory sumex) -- you should use this in preference to incurring network traffic across the Atlantic.

  26. XferIt is shareware: this copy is licensed to the University of Newcastle upon Tyne. Anyone retrieving XferIt from another location should read and take action on the licence agreement in the documentation folder.
